Robert W. Adler, Jr.

President

Rob received his Degree in Architecture from Cornell University in 1986. After three years of internship in Hackensack and Long Branch, NJ, he received his license to practice in New Jersey and opened this firm in 1989. He is also licensed in New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Rob is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), The Jersey Shore Chapter of the AIA, The National Association of Home Builders, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

In addition to his architectural practice, Rob also is an active owner in several other companies. He owns 50% of a construction company, Socha Builders, Inc.; a portion of a sports-based real estate development company, Sustain Sports; and a portion of an environmental development company, Ecological Resources Group (ERG).

Rob’s work has been published in Panache Publishing’s “Dream Homes of New Jersey”, New Jersey Monthly and many other publications, and he was featured on the cover of Remodeling Magazine when Socha Builders was named to their prestigious “Big 50” list in 1995.  He was also featured in 2016 as one of the nation’s “finest architects” in the nationally published book, “Signature Homes”.

In professional service, Rob also offers his time to speak each year at the Rumson Public schools, teach the Architecture Merit Badge for Boy Scouts, and conduct local applicant interviews for Cornell University’s School of Architecture, Art and Planning.

James J. Blarr

Vice President

Jim is a full associate and Vice President of the firm and received his Degree in Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1992. He has been working with the firm since 1994 and has been an extremely integral part of the growth and accomplishments of the firm. He received his license to practice architecture in New Jersey in 1998.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and The Jersey Shore Chapter of the AIA.

Jim manages many of the general business elements, office architectural activities and daily staff processes for the entire firm and is an excellent liaison to clients for all answers about our projects and details. Jim is also perfectly suited to attend to any client needs during the construction phases when assistance is needed.

Recently, Jim has taken the lead role as Project Architect for some of our larger commercial projects and residential developer-clients which has garnered accolades from our clients in difficult and challenging construction scenarios.

In addition to his professional roles in the firm, Jim is also an active volunteer member of the Middletown Township Fire Department, and so adds a particularly acute perspective to the safety of our designs and details. He has also volunteered his time to participate in presentations of Art & Architecture for local grade school students.
